Can any regulars explain the huge increase in price? Looking at random Saturday and Sunday dates for October/November and I'm getting quoted up to £990 for Saturday and £500 ish for Sunday. Had a very quick search and can't see any local events that would/should make that much difference.The last time I stayed there (2020) I remember it being around £200 on a Saturday for 6th floor room, bed & breakfast and dinner. Was looking to book as it's reasonably close to places I want to visit but not a chance I'd pay these prices, I mean it's reasonably decent but nowhere near a grand a night.

I used to stay there quite a bit when working in Avonmouth and it would pop up on some of the discount sites at £100 or so. It was getting pretty tired 5 years ago. A grand a night is really having a laugh at your expense.

I think most hotels were very cheap in 2020, as so few people were traveling. Last years price may not be a reflection of the normal rates.

It has had a decent refurb since then and the 6th floor is, in fairness, very nice, has it's own check-in, glass of something on arrival and a few nice touches but you're right, it's a mile away from the prices they are asking and I don't understand why anyone would pay them. I'm guessing they still have the crazy parking charges as well.

Its not just due to the rugby games. Prices everywhere have gone up significantly as so many people are staying in the UK rather than going abroad this year.

I'm trying to book a weekend away in Bath for my wife's birthday. We've gone there quite a bit over the last 6-7 years but the current prices are horrendous.

Yup. My lovely cheap hotels of early 2021 are long gone. One of my colleagues was complaining that a couple of junior colleagues seemed by the price to be staying in some luxurious highlands castles. I think he missed the point!

Even premier inn has gone mad, looking to go to cardiff after the rugby, premier inn for 2 nights is 245 quid! Yes its Friday night and saturday night.

They used to, not sure about now but I'm guessing it's the supporters that pack it out at that price.
