I feel I should know the answer and prompted by the other UK stickers thread:

Do I need a UK sticker/badge to travel to Northern Ireland? Seeing as it is part of the UK.

Supplementary question: if I go over the border do I also need one in Ireland?

I'm sure it will be fine, but not massively keen on getting union flag UK stickers.

Thanks.

For NI no, it's part of the UK and the reason for changing from GB to UK (NI isn't part of GB).

For ROI, yes, easiest way is a UK sticker;

Thank you. That was my assumption.

Not a fan of the massive stickers but thought probably required for Ireland. Won’t be in a magnet car either.

"Although vehicles registered in Northern Ireland or Great Britain are not required to display a UK sticker or symbol when driving in the Republic of Ireland, a UK sticker should be displayed on UK-registered vehicles when they're driven in the rest of the EU or EEA. "

You don't need one.

Thanks. I don't remember NI registered cars needing a country badge before, so that makes sense. Still a bit counter intuitive when going into the EU.

No sticker required, there's a common travel area between N Ireland and Rep of Ireland. It's been in existence long before the EU, Brexit, etc
