London Hotel - 1 night with Kids / Tube?

Planning a weekend in London with the kids - usual stuff - Nation History / Buckingham Palace / HoP / Big Ben etc
First time the kids will have been.
Central hotels are coming up horrendously expensive so looking a little further out - Travel Lodge seems reasonable as somewhere to sleep for a night.
Is there a better area for tube access / use and not getting murdered in the dark type areas that we should be looking.
Wembley
London City Airport
Manor House
Battersea
Ealing
Lewisham
Woolwich
All come up at less that £150 for the night.
Anywhere I should avoid / other hotels to consider?

We did this in the spring with our two boys aged 2 and 4, stayed in the Premier Inn in Kensington which was good value and gave good access to the museums, Kensington gardens and fairly close on the tube/buses/walking to all the tourist spots. Plenty of opportunity for car spotting around there too!
I would maybe do Battersea one and from there you can get a bus over the river (no tube near by) to the museums and whatever else you want to do. I’d also recommend getting the river boat (there’s a dock near the hotel) down to HoP, if you have time you could also go all the way down to Tower of London/Tower Bridge. It’s a nice way to travel and good with kids.
The Manor House one is also handy transport wise as it’s 2 mins from the Victoria line. The area is OK really but it depends what you’re used to! It’s not a smart part of town but it’s mostly full of normal people going about their lives. You won’t get murdered. I’d discount the others as they’re less convenient IMO.

Something to think about. Parking. We're going to a concert at the 02 on Friday 29th September. Booked train tickets and returning on the Saturday, when they've announced a possible train strike. So we can get down, but may not be able to get back. Luckily the hotel I've booked does have nearby parking, so may have to drive down, and reclaim the train fares.

I used to recommend this place, it's been the go-to for many years when I visit London, but I went in July and it's looking really grubby and tired now - I was told they used it to house homeless during the Covid lockdowns and the carpets even in the 'premium' rooms are a mess.Central for the West End/Central London sites etc., cheap, clean and you won't get stabbed going back at night.

Using the river boat sounds like a great plan - the kids would love that - as they would the cable car - only concern is that it's a bit of a faff getting out there and then back and again the same day & then again the next day - particularly if we've come in on the train to city centre?

Left field,Haverstock hotel or nox belsize,if your coming sat morning on street parking free in certain places Fri 6 pm sat/sun,up hill to Hampstead then jump on Northern line,down hill into Camden,and northern line,chilled out area,well I would say that,walk into Oxford Street via regents park, marleybourne sorry just seen coming by train,still applies,Euston,northern line lol
With family I would avoid travel lodge Euston tbh,decent food place rotti king just round corner though,shell,Holborn good for sea food,Homeslice any branch great pizza
