Anyone been to the canaries recently?

Hi PHers,
My brother is going to Gran Canaria on Monday. The guidelines are so so vague and difficult to understand. Are they doing checks at the airport?
He is double jabbed but the last jab was 16 months ago and the website says the last jab needs to be done within 270days. The actual jab certificate says his barcode expires in 2023.
It’s so confusing - anyone been over in the last few weeks from the uk?
Do you just waltz through the airport or do they demand all the documents etc?
I’m sure one of the old PH types must own an airline ( or the canaries . . ) so over to you!!

I've been to Fuerteventura 5 times this year and only the first post-Covid time did they ever check, all other times I was waved through. They seem to rely on a thermal camera and someone monitoring as you pass through the final doors. Bear in mind that EU citizens don't do any of this crap.
Officially you need to be double jabbed but if you've had a booster, that doesn't expire after 270 days.
On the last trip, the useless Welsh NHS had not updated my partner's booster ("we're fixing it at the end of October") so to comply, we did an LFT within 24 hours and so had a certificate "just in case". Needless to say, even though she'd never been to Fuerteventura before (I'm a regular), still nothing.

2 jabs expires after 9 months. That's very clear. A 3rd is required for lifetime access. Ridiculous but several countries still on paper using that.
Whether is it enforced or not is a different thing.
Personally, I wouldn't risk it however I understand the actual checks are pretty minimal now and it's more likely you are not checked.

It's laughable, what a ridiculous rule when even the jab addicts accept that the effectiveness wears off pretty quickly. I have only had 2 jabs and not having any more so some countries will unfortunately be off my list soon. Their loss, plenty of other nice countries to visit.Whether is it enforced or not is a different thing.
Went to GC just over a month ago - they were checking everybody's paperwork, whether that be NHS doco or LFT test certification.
For the sake of a tenner to do a self-administered LFT and get a QR code within 24 hours of flying, I wouldn't risk it.
Conversely, flew to Malaga a coupld of weeks after and the people on the only manned desk couldn't have been less interested in checking anyone at all.
