Help me please !!!
Mrs and myself are looking for a holiday this year- we don't go away too often, although last year we ticked off NewYork as we hit 50.
We are looking for idea's for this year - and between TripAdvisor and the local agents we're not making much headway.

We are looking for a short haul destination, where the hotel is not in the middle of nowhere. Pre Covid we managed a trip to an adults only hotel in Paphos which was near perfect. We could lay around in the hotel grounds, were greeted and escort to loungers handed towels etc or spend time wondering down to the harbor and watching the world go by ... it was an all inclusive hotel - which whilst not being a definitive was a nice bonus, exp as it meant not carrying a wallet around lol.

We've found adult only hotels which just are not ticking the boxes. They are either in the middle of a field with nothing around - or huge mega hotels that share facilities with others.
Destination we are quite flexible, other than having to avoid Spain for personal reasons (boring, not a crim, etc)

Have we set the bar to high ?

Iceland. Flight is only a couple of hours, hire a car and explore. We only had 3 nights, stayed in Reykjavik and did a day trip to Vik, did the Lava show, couple of black sand beaches, then waterfalls on the way back to the hotel. 2nd day went around Thingvellier national park, northern lights that night. Last day was a visit to a lighthouse and a couple of craters and the bridge between continents.
The scenery is outstanding, people are nice and friendly.
We didn't do any of the thermal pools though.

Could potentially do the maldives on that for a real relaxed holiday, or Sri Lanka, Goa in India, not very short haul though

Baku Azerbaijan? A little random I know but I have heard there is an area with nice hotels etc due to its natural wealth.

Weather should be good and a city location.

Istanbul is fascinating (IMO) and warm, great for a short stop there (and then on to a resort for R&R?)

I’d look at Rhodes or Crete if you want a nice all inc hotel plus great weather. There’s a huge range of decent all inc hotels there.

I love Greece, nice restaurants if you want to go out, lovey scenery and people, clean clear azure water for swimming just beautiful.
