Decent hotel near Le Mans

We re travelling down to the Dordogne mid June and thinking of a stopover near Le Mans, close to the Autoroute.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a reasonable place thats not locked in the 1920's with complete with musty accomodation? Doesn't have to be that close to LM, just convenient to the route.
