Anyone got any recommendations, I typically go with terminal only and am not to fussy about the supplier. Alamo are currently giving me the best price, as usual they have a terrible trustpilot score but than again so so Dollar, Avis etc. so it looks like much of a muchness.

I read that MCO is the single biggest car hire location in the world. I rented from there last month and pretty much all major brands are available and are all on-site in the attached car park. Therefore I would just go with price, so long as you are taking the full insurance, or you have your own separate cover.
The one area where I feel you need trust with hire cars is if you don't have the full cover and you worry that they will 'find' a scratch. But the insurance makes this a non-issue.
I used Hertz and the service was fine, it was also a lot of fun having a huge American SUV for two weeks.

Use an on-airport location.

Avoid the likes of Firefly etc. that are all off-site and require shuttles.

I tend to use Dollar/Thrifty/Alamo but they often have mega queues if arriving at busy times. In the past 18mths I have had probably 6-8 waits for these that have been in excess of 90mins which isn't great when you've just come off a 9+hr flight.

For my next trip Sixt was cheapest and I used to use Sixt a lot in Vegas so have experience of them.

Alamo is the one to go for, and surprising that you're getting the best price with them too. You won't go wrong with Alamo at MCO.

Whenever I've been to Orlando I've used the above company, Andy the guy who runs it is brilliant to deal with. If you keep checking the site and the rental suddenly gets cheaper, contact him and he'll reduce the price, never puts it up though.

And I previously had an issue with the car rental company charging me for something I'd prepaid for. Again, contacted Andy and he immediately refunded the money himself. I'm assuming he then chased the rental company for his refund.

Also check out slamo Brits guide
We use this offer 3 free drivers and genuinely cheaper than their standard rates. I'd suggest booking the cancelable rate until between 4 weeks and 2 weeks out as prices can change massively

We book 8 seat premium suv original price was $1293 few weeks later it was $1266 today it's $2929!!! But past experience shows the 2-4 week is cheapest but I check every few days just incase

Used Andy for each of our 5 Orlando holidays, never any issues.
