Buying a holiday apartment in Spain

My sister and I would like to have a place in Spain but haven't a clue where to start. Has anyone done this and have any advice?

Have a look at the website Idealista. It is a bit like rightmove, and has an English language option. Pick your area and start browsing. Allow for about 15 per cent of purchase price on top for legal fees. Consider renting in an area you like first. We did that, then bought and have not looked back.
