Whats there to do in the Gambia?

For reasons far to boring to go into, I'm due to be going to the Gambia, for about a week, later this year (September/October). I have a commitment which mean I'll be busy for no more then a day. I was meant to be going alone but I'm thinking about taking Mrs & Ms Moroni for the ride.

I've done a bit of research; as we are going out of season there doesn't appear to be a great deal to do. Has anyone got any experience of the Country.

I was there about 35 years ago. I remember a newly built motorway with nothing but horse and carts and the odd Merc taxi.

The answer then was fk all. I can't imagine it's turned into Las Vegas since. Surfing was a thing though.

The ocean is lovely and warm.

No 'big-game'. We did some cultural trips, which were VERY eye-opening (rams homw how lucky we are here in the UK!)

I'm aware that it's a very poor country. In fact, he reason I'm going is to see if I can help out a UK based charity who donate various things to the Country
