Where to family holiday in Villa between Barcelona and Genoa

Hi,

I'd like to get villa or equiv with a pool somewhere in this region:



I appreciate it is a massive area covering 3 countries. I know nothing other than googling pictures and am finding it very difficult to find the right spot for a holiday. Some real life recommendations will help massively.

- My budget this year is upto £2500 for an airbnb place with a pool, last 2 weeks of August. Airbnb lists many options that look okay.
- Two kids 10 + 8 and our Dog
- We will drive via Euro Tunnel with an overnight stop somewhere on the way down
- I'll likely bring our bikes

What do we do on holiday?
- Play in the pool and hang around the property.
- Ideally explore on foot locally, don't really want to drive for miles.
- We tend to shop local and cook our own meals
- It would be nice to have a local bar or something we can visit or a local restaurant occassionally
- Doesn't have to be near the beach but equally it is nice to walk along. Up in mountains or in countryside is fine.
- we try with the local languages but really are limited to please, thank you i.e. the basics.

edit to add - don't want cities, like the quiet life. I live in a small hamlet outside a small village in the UK.
