I have never done this before. Flying out is no problem, it’s a few days here and there before ending up in Tromso, Norway.
Coming back is different. The only way to get back to Norwich airport is 3 flights on the same day.
Tromso >Tromdheim> Amsterdam > Norwich. All booked by the travel agent.
Presumably, once my case is checked in at Tromso, I won’t see it again until Norwich?
Is there anything I need to do?

If it is all the same airline then (theoretically) you check in your luggage in Tromso and then will collect it in Norwich. In reality whether your luggage makes it there at the same time as you is normally dependent on whether the baggage handlers have enough time in each airport to get your luggage from one plane to the next.

If you're booked through the whole trip in the same PNR, then yes, it should go the whole way. Best to validate whenever you drop it at the first airport if you're not sure.

Your tickets/booking will usually make it abundantly clear if your baggage has to be re-checked in at any stage. Usually it just flows through the system. On the rare occasion I've had to go to baggage reclaim and re-check it in there were bold **** messages all over my booking details.

Wideroe and KLM have a codeshare agreement so you should be able to check in and with any luck see your bag in Norwich. Connections should also be protected if it’s on one ticket.

Tromdheim Airport is small. You'll probably see the gate for your Amsterdam flight when you get off.

Amsterdam is not. It's huge. So keep in mind that depending on the time between the two flights, you might need some rapid walking action to get from one gate to the other.

If it's tight, they may stick you on a transit bus from one aircraft to the next.

Especially as you're going from Schengen to non-Schengen flight which are all stuck down the end of the far pier behind the most god-awful 'Irish' pub hehe

Update....It all went very well. The day before we were due to fly out from Tromso we received an email from KLM saying we could check in online for our flight to NORWICH. That was a relief!
When we arrived at the airport and did the self service baggage check in, we were also relieved to see the baggage label had three destinations on it, as did our boarding passes.

Only one security check in at Tromso and that was it. Very pleased with the whole thing. We did have about a four hour wait at Trondheim and a three hour wait at Amsterdam. Fortunately, the flights were quite short, 2hr, 2hr and 45 mins.

A lot of people around our way (North Norfolk) fly from Norwich to Amsterdam, before getting a connecting flight for long haul. I couldn't see the point of it until now. Why spend about three hours driving to Heathrow and all the hassle that involves. I would rather spend a few hours sitting at Amsterdam airport.

Norwich is a very small friendly airport. I like it a lot. Checking in and security is so much easier and quicker there. I shall use it again in the future.

It's similar at Southampton, or at lest used to be as I haven't lived in the area for some time. Handy if you're flying somewhere that KLM goes even if it's a few quid extra to fly out of somewhere like Southampton, it more or less evens out with the travel costs to Heathrow. More regional airports should be used in the same way in the UK but airlines don't want to take the risk.

AMS is a decent airport for a layover as well. Sure it's not wining any awards but I've been through a lot worse (looking at you, Frankfurt).
