South Africa safari private reserve

I am planning to doing our first safari in South Africa - the plan is to hopefully stay at either the Madikwe reserve or one of the private reserves by Kruger budget permitting. So please recommend where you have stayed in either of these areas! Also planning on doing a week or did you didn't that too long?

Madikwe Lodge comes highly recommended. I have a few Saffer friends who have spent some time there.

The only safari I've done was to Motswari Private Game Reserve, in the Timbavati and bordering I think Kruger. I have no other point of comparison, but it was amazing!
