Internal flights
Discussion
We are travelling from the Costa Blanca next week to pick up a motorhome. The quickest and cheapest way is to fly. We have a flight from Alicante to Majorca, then a flight to Zaragoza with a different airline. The question is, do we have to go back through security while we are in Majorca. As we have just over an hour after the plane lands, also hoping the flights are on time.

If it's booked on the same ticket probably not. Different tickets probably yes. Depends on the airport, some have no provision for passenger transit.

Yes they are booked on the same ticket.
In that case don't worry, it's the airlines responsibility to get you where they said they would. They'll have an MCT (Minimum Connection Time) for each airport... Although from experience I can say Iberia likes to give tight connections.
Signed,
Still in the immigration queue in BOG.

Not necessarily. Some websites will sell you a "self transfer" ticket. There is no protection in this case if your first flight delay causes you to miss your second flight. They'll have an MCT (Minimum Connection Time) for each airport... 1hr is tight if you have to do security? If you are only taking hand luggage it might be ok. If there is a seat choice it might be worth paying to be sat closer to the exit to get off the plane sharp.
If it's like Madrid, there will be an internal security checkpoint but this is easy to get through. Shorter queues and they're less anal about the rulesVery odd flying to Mallorca first. I’d have probably got the train.
Anyway you should be fine

The train time is 6 hours and 156€ each. The flights including waiting is 3 hours 30 minutes and 55€ each. No brainer if it goes to plan

For your flight from Alicante to Majorca and then onwards to Zaragoza, since these are separate flights with different airlines, you will need to go through security again in Majorca. This is because your connection is not a direct transfer but a self-transfer, where you need to check in for the second flight separately.
They were flights in the same country, so no need for going through security. Gassing Station | Holidays & Travel | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
