Hi,

Do you have any recommendations for a fun day trip with a Christmas theme?

Looking for a fun and if possible, interactive activity suitable for a nearly 6 and 7.5 years old girl. Skating is on my to-do list, so any recommendation is welcomed.

Idea is to catch the train and make a day of it in London (the kids enjoy catching the train), but any other ideas surrounding London are welcomed too.

We have been to Winter Wonderland (not rushing back neither!) and my daughters are not really into sightseeing / just looking at Xmas decoration etc..
Thanks

Christmas stuff at Natural History Museum: https://www.nhm.ac.uk/events/christmas-at-the-muse...

Santa and Xmas train stuff at London transport museum: https://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on/families/chris...

Kew Gardens have Xmas lights display and a good walk to tire out little ones for drive home.

Fortnum and Mason have a ton of fun cooking stuff to do and classes on the top floor if you book in advance.

It sure will be hell for me / my wallet if they set foot in Hamleys smile

Thanks for the suggestions so far, some of which will fill a few day trip.

Somerset house skating was fully booked, so we visited Battersea yesterday. Our first visit, and we were very impressed with the set-up. Not a shopping person myself, but the whole place feels very Christmassy with good eateries, and a decent playground to keep my kids entertained. My kids loved the skating and want to go again!

In hindsight, Battersea was the better call as the area was clean and not crowded unlike going to the West End to Somerset house!
