New York and DC where to book
Discussion
I’m trying to book flights and hotels for a break next April
We want to fly into NY, stay for 5 nights then get a train to DC and stay for 3 days.
We want to fly into JFK and back from Dulles.
I can’t find any websites that allow for this (I think simple) trip.
Any recommendations or advice please…

Choose your airline and use their website. Both BA and Virgin fly to / from both of those airports.
Choose your hotels and book them using their websites.
You can probably save some money by booking the hotel as an add-on to the flight.
No ideas on the train - use google.
Personally, I'd check rates / prices / availability for all segments of the trip before booking anything. I'd also take out travel insurance as step 1
It's all very straightforward.

I did 4 days in DC and then train up to NYC for 3 days in Nov 22.
The train was actually pretty nice, but very slow for the distance I think we were averaging about 50mph so factor that in. Lots to see on the way.
Hotels wise NYC is covered on here a lot.
In DC we used the Hyatt Place on K. Its very close to the main attractions, we only used a taxi for Arlington and the zoo, walked everything else.
Fairly new rooms (think it was renovated over covid?) and not too expensive either. Free breakfast was very, very popular the whole hotel seemed to turn up at 8am for it.
Booking wise we used Spirit (CUN>BWI) so not relevant for you.
Coming back to UK Virgin as usual.
Think your current options from BWI are only BA.
IAD you have Virgin, BA and United.
I would go with Virgin just to get a ride on the 330-9!
BA operate their 380. United will be a 777.
As its quite a popular business route you will find prices are about the same on all 3 carriers.
You also have Dublin, depending where you live, but it wont be much if anything cheaper.
Virgins new year sale starts today IIRC.
HTH.
