A week in Stockholm

Mrs Bigmon is heading over to Stockholm for a work conference in May and I have managed to blag an invite (not to the conference).
She (and I) are being put up for a night or so in the 'Blique by Nobis' but Mrs Bigmon very much dislikes the look of it (she compared it to a prison!) so for the rest of our stay we'll go somewhere else and I thought I'd ask the PH hive mind for recommendations for everything!
I've never been to Sweden or any of that part of the world before but have always wanted to go so am very excited.
If anyone can recommend decent hotels, places to eat, things to do, etc I'll be very grateful. We're both pretty active and very much enjoy strolling\walking around a city to explore so that wouldn't be a problem.

You might be able to stay in an actual prison! The old jail was turned into a Youth Hostel, 2 people per cell. It was years ago so no idea if still there. Also open for tours I think.I'm guessing that's not what you meant though!

My strong recommendation for hotel would be Hotel Skeppsholmen; it is truly wonderful in every respect, not least its amazing location. (I believe that it's also part of the Nobis group, FWIW). Take a look: https://www.hotelskeppsholmen.se
As for stuff to do, a lot people enjoy the Vasa museum https://www.vasamuseet.se/en.
Djurgarden is close to the centre but a lovely big chunk of nature to walk about in, with some added attractions. Within it, as well as an amusement park and ABBA museum, is Rosendals Trädgård which is sort of a garden place and sort of an open air restaurant.
Also don't miss the weird singing tunnel.

We stayed here https://www.hotelfrantz.se and it was a great base to explore from. It also had an exceptional breakfast to set you up for the day. Also excellent staff that helped us out with any questions we had.
It is just the other side off the Old Town, from the centre, but this meant you had a nice walk into the main area (about 20 minutes).
Go on a boat trip around the archipelago, nice in good weather. If you get the ferry you can get off and visit the VASA Museum (this is bonkers) it is well worth a visit.
Take plenty of cash - Eating out is expensive i seem to remember.
Try and eat here at least once https://pelikan.se/ - I would go back just to have the meatballs again, they were stunning.
