Hi all

We're going to the US in a few weeks and if I'm reading it right, my son who is under 18, his passport runs out in a fraction under 6 months from the point we arrive but the UK is exempt from this.

Does everyone agree?

Is it worth the risk (given the cost of a US trip)? Just get a new passport?!

Do urgent application passport renewal, not that much to do. While he "might" get away with it do you really want to get to gate or even as far as US immigration and be sent back. Which, btw, might mean all party members are sent back. Yes, US immigration can be that stickler about it if they choose.

No need for 6 months. You're only allowed to be there for 90 days anyway.

There’s nothing to “get away with” - the rules are perfectly clear. There’s no requirement for UK passport holders to have validity beyond their length of stay.
