Things to do in Taormina?

The wife and I are off to Sicily at the beginning of May. We are staying in Taormina. Any suggestions for places to do/see.
So far we have vineyard plus Etna. I know there is a Godfather tour, but not really interested in that. Other than eating, drinking and walking around, what else is there?
Of course, any recommendations on places to eat, drink or walk around, are very welcome too.

Hi there, Taomina is the most amazing place ! When in town walk to the next village up the hill Castelamola, only a mile or so for amazing views. Also an evening drink to the bar that overlooks Etna, especially if she's putting on a display. Naxos down below is a pleasant place for it's beach cafes.

That's what I was hoping, thanks.As mentioned, Taormina is beautiful. Isola Bella is a little island by Taormina that’s a vision.
Highly recommend a drive to Savoca just up the coast up in the hills. Tiny but so pretty, with great views, and was used to film Michael Corleone’s wedding in the film. Park on the roadside just before entering the village.
Avoid Messina further north - an absolute dump.
If you’ve not seen it, series two of The White Lotus will get you in the mood as it was filmed in Taormina, plus it’s a great watch anyway.
Safe travels…

Worth checking out the Teatrico Antico de Taormina.
It’s an old Greek open air theatre which still has performances most weekends.
When I was there Rick Wakeman was playing, just after Bowie died and he performed a very moving rendition of Life on Mars
On Sunday evening get yourself to any of the outdoor bars and watch the people go by.
The Taorminans do the Italian thing of dressing smartly and going out to eat, stroll and see and be seen.

Lovely place Taormina. I think all the good stuff has been covered. It’s a great place just to chill and people watch.
One of my favorite holiday memories is there. We went at October half term for a week. Late one afternoon it started to rain a bit, we got settled under the canopy of a gorgeous little Trattoria with some wine, bread and olives. It was on quite a steep downhill corner of the main drag right next to a T junction. The local drivers just couldn’t cope with the slippy conditions and promptly bashed into each other at the junction. Cue lots of finest Italian arm waving, swearing and general arguments about who was at fault. It wasn’t just one shunt there was loads of them, barely 10 mins went by without a drama. It was simply the best viewing. Great evening.
