Probably looking at going in the summer holidays this year!

Happy to go right at the end or right at the start.

Budget is prob an absolute max of £5.5k.

Which rules out places like IKOS etc.

Any specific hotel suggestions that are likely to land in budget and i'm not going to hate? Am i just best picking the highest rated resort in Turkey?

Two adult, two kids, 8 & 5

No requirement for a huge water park thing but a few little slides and something for the kids to do, would rather be near to a village / town / location than out in the sticks with nowhere to go.

Don't really want to go to Egpyt.

Yeah Ikos is crazy money in the summer holidays, an alternative we've looked at that isn't the usual Turkey/Egypt is Paradisus by Melia Gran Canaria.

Seems to be near amenities and gets decent reviews. Most summer weeks are still £££ but you might sneak in on your budget in the last week of August. Jet2 still had some free child places.

Hotel Riu Palace Boavista, on Boa Vista island, Cape verde
Shares the neighbour Hotel RIU Karamboa water park

Lacks anything outside the resort, however the food and service is top notch.
Pools are great.
Location guarantees decent weather
The beach's are stunning.

Check out Mitsis Blue Domes in Kos or Mitsis Laguna in Crete.

I've been to Riu hotels on Boa Vista twice and wouldn't go back.

Food and service? Only place we've had food poisoning - my wife worse than me.

Beaches are indeed lovely, but both times we visited it was impossible to go in the sea due to the wind/swell.

I'd go to Turkey if I was the OP.

Menorca - Cala'n Bosch or Son Bou resorts might fit budget, more relaxed atmosphere

Costa Del Sol - Benalmadena has beaches plus Tivoli World for kids

Have a look at Olympic Lagoon in Ayia Napa. Lovely resort with great food and service, plus a couple of really nice restaurants onsite. Has a hige kids pool with river rapids, and there's an enormous water park next door and Nissi Beach (one of the finest in Europe) is just across (well, under) the road. Protoras is about 10 minutes away and has more stunning beaches (Fig Tree Bay is a personal favourite), Ayia Napa about 15.

Don't believe all you've heard about Ayia Napa either, lots of nice restaurants and bars, and you can easily avoid the party street if you don't want to go there.

Suspect we'll be there in October. Both Jet2 and BA Holidays offer breaks there so you should have a good choice of airports.

Thanks All...

Holiday periods make this very expensive...

Blue Domes is nearer than £6k than £5k, Laguna is just about doable in budget.

The Lagoons one is nearer £7k!

Will take a look at the Balearic suggestions.

Don't really fancy Cape Verde - mostly because there's isn't much to do outside of the resorts so i've heard.

Lara Barut is the best one I've been to in Turkey, managed a great deal at sub £2k for a week last Easter but I think it gets quite a bit more expensive in summer.

Crystal Bay - Hurghada is great. I’ve stayed there.

Just booked Valmar in Corfu - upper end of budget and not even open til July 1st but the website and vision is very impressive.

Take a look at Creta Maris, it should be perfect for kids that age. Recent refurbishment too

And sadly over £7k - as it does look very nice.

Can you not get somewhere in the Caribbean for that money? £1300 pp inc 2 kids gets you a 4* AI in DR or Mex doesn’t it?

Caribbean/Mexico is poor value for us Europeans IMO, and a significantly longer flight.

Only been to the Palace once and being Adults only it's no use for the OP, no need for a second visit to rule it out for any recommendations. Below par food, drink and entertainment, and I actually think being Adults only was a negative, and I hate kids. hehe
And Boa Vista in general is just a bit 'meh', will be going back to Turkey for the 3rd time for our next AI holiday, it ticks all the boxes better than anywhere else we've tried AI

Take the kids out of school in September and save yourself ££££

I wouldn’t bother with Cape Verde in the summer, I’ve been twice in January and February which is its USP to me as it’s still warm, without being longhall and the weather is better than the canaries that time of year, in the summer I would stick more to developed parts of Europe personally.

Can’t help specifically with a hotel though.
