W hotel Abu Dhabi
Discussion
Hi
Stayed there a couple of times. The hotel is decently located for Yas Island activities. It's about 20mins from downtown Abu Dhabi.
The pool is ok, but they seem to have let it go a bit. No DJ on. Some of the loungers missing. Never really busy.
More importantly, there is likely to be some sort of racing on the track at the weekend. That makes the pool pretty noisy! Its neither a party pool or a chilled pool unfortunately.
If it's Yas you're after, consider the Hilton as has a decent pool and access to Cafe Del Mar beach club.
Or you might want to consider the St Regis or similar on Saadiyat. Or the Conrad on the Corniche.
Depends what you're looking for and budget really. Lots of options.

Thanks, that’s useful, I’ll have a look at the others you suggested. We were trying to avoid too many kids and a decent option for laying by the pool with a dj. Stayed there a couple of times. The hotel is decently located for Yas Island activities. It's about 20mins from downtown Abu Dhabi.

I've been there at weekends and sometimes they'd Adj, other times not. Your soundtrack might be cars racing around the circuit.
Cafe Del Mar will definitely have a dj and be kid free. Plus on a Saturday they have their brunch offer
Enjoy!
Thanks. Having a good look at the Conrad now as there is an offer for a junior suite on the club floor. Too many options! Cafe Del Mar will definitely have a dj and be kid free. Plus on a Saturday they have their brunch offer

IMO the W in Abu Dhabi and the one in Dubai do not compare. The W on Yas is great if that's the area you want to be but as others have said, if there's racing on, it's intolerable (and that's coming from a motorsport fan!). They do however do great packages from the UK, my FIL has booked flights/hotel packages with them when visiting and got great deals. Restaurants are good too and getting better.
If you're wanting to be on Yas, the Hilton is a great choice. We've been twice this week and love the pool, but, it does get busy with children. The free access to Cafe Del Mar is great though. DJs over the week end, good vibes and not Dubai busy...much more chilled.
Echo the above suggestions if you're wanting to be in the city. The Conrad is a lovely hotel with a great pool and nice restaurants. Rosewood is also a very nice hotel.
Saadiyat would be my choice if funds allow, the beach and sea is unlike anywhere else in the UAE. Rixos is great option if looking for all inclusive. Jumeirah is also great!

Thanks. That’s really useful. I need to have another look at Saadiyat, we prefer pool to beach but certainly a nice beach is always welcome. We stayed in the Hilton at the end of November last year (week before the F1). As others have said, if you wanted kid free you'd need to go across the boardwalk to Cafe Del Mar. We stayed in the club rooms half board. If we went back we'd stay in the club rooms but go B&B. There are plenty of decent looking restaurants along the boardwalk right outside next to Cafe Del Mar. There was quite a bit of building work building new beach clubs on either side of Cafe Del Mar / the pier.....I would expect they are finished by now or will be by October. Didn't impact us at all. Enjoyed the Hilton. We had a walk around the marina to the W but looked a bit too high brow for us :-). The Hilton doesn't have it's own beach.
