Hi All,

Does anyone know what happens if you turn up at the Eurotunnel in a different car to the one you booked with - does it cause issues as IIRC it uses ANPR at the barrier to get your details. Do you get straight declined, or have to pay extra?

Change the vehicle online or by phone before you turn up - the check-in booths are automatic and work on ANPR

You just have to enter the booking ref number on the useless touch screen

You'll only need to pay extra if the car is significantly different in size - for instance, you booked a Polo sized car and turn up in a lengthy Mercedes estate or you have a car than can only go on the single deck carriage because of height/width.

I did this in Feb last year and despite being in a smaller car than the initial booking was made for, high/wide vehicle, it still charged me about £30 to ammend at the ticket machine. Stated something along the lines of it not matching the car on the booking. This was on a cheapo ticket, so I would imagine the website would have charged me a similar amount to change the details.

The answer to an unasked question. Bravo.
