Tips/suggestions for Mount Teide ‘stargazing’

Going to Tenerife next week and hoping to make to most of the view of the stars from the top of the volcano.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. TIA

We did one with elegant excursions last year that was enjoyable

It included some drinks at sunset on the west side of the island and then a dinner and more drinks. The guide was also good fun and not too OTT on the mic whilst on the bus. The scenery is stunning on the way up with a couple of stops to take everything in.

Make sure you bring some warm clothes it gets very cold up there once the sun goes down.

It cost us €79 each and we were collected and returned to a stop beside our hotel.

If you have ski clothing wear that, as that is what the lift operators wear.

being more serious, the advice from the others is very good - bring warm clothes - gloves/hat too as it can be very cold. If you have them, then an insulated pad to sit on can be good too depending on what tour you are on.

We did this, with the meal.
It was excellent, thanks for the recommendation.

Disappointed that it’s the wrong time of year for the Milky Way, though.

I’m on Gran Canaria at the moment. Our hiking guide mentioned this though. Apparently you need a permit for the summit, so worth looking into before you get there.
