Entering US from Canada

Planning a trip from UK to Canada, then flying from Toronto to New York, then back to UK from New York. UK passport holders with valid ETA/ESTA for both countries.

Any particular complications to be aware of for the Canada to USA leg?

U.S Immigration used to be done at Toronto Pearson, so arriving in NY was like a domestic flight.
Given recent events, I don’t know if that’s still the case.
Best to check on the airport’s website.

I do this two or three times a year. Last time was in March and very quiet both ways.

No issues and no different from entering from the UK. Was a massive pain during Covid but it's a breeze now.

US customs is done in Toronto , so worse case scenario you’d be stuck in Toronto, not shipped to El Salvador ( since Carney won!)
