Booking a hotel that hasn't opened yet.....
Discussion
Would depend on where it is, which chain (assuming it is part of one) and how well priced compared to what's already built in the area.I've been looking at a newly built hotel in Northern Cyprus and the reviews are horrendous, poorly trained staff, unfinished bits around the site and total lack of organisation.
I'd probably give it a miss and book once it's been operating for a year.

Depends - I’d probably chance it
Time wise that’s likely long enough to iron out any initial teething problems .
If it’s a reputable chain even safer, I’ve gone into new hotels where I’ve “status” , booked initial opening deals in different cities. & left decent reviews which they appreciate.

We’ve done this a few times with top end hotels, then often try to get bookings at low prices due to lack of reviews etc.
We booked this in a few weeks for a fraction of what it’s now selling for

We did the same with this place last year, was really impressive

depends on too many variables, with a common theme being who the operator is.
a mate has just finished PMing the build of a hotel in the seychelles. they are now in handover/testing, so employees and contractors + families staying for free whilst they do that and train new staff. the operator has an opening team that come in such that there won't be any area of the hotel that only has fresh [to the brand] staff.
if the construction and ops readiness has been developed properly then no issue. the hotel group above is multi-bn t/o mainly 5 start so naturally has this down pat as a business process, this further you go down the star list then obviously this is less of a priority to the point that the guest experience is barely considered.
but at 6mths in they would have to be pretty shonky not to have most things ironed out, assuming they complete the build/handover on time!
if it were me i'd take a punt and in the event it falls short, compare it to where i would be staying at the same price before turning my nose up.

Well sadly it does not appear to be a bargain although it might be in the end....Time will tell......I think hopefully it won't be too bad, as said above they have a few months to get any teething troubles out of the way before we arrive...
