Hotel recommendations Auxerre France and Dijon France
Discussion
Its all a bit of a lottery on Booking.com and Trip advisor with reviews so varied I don't know what to choose .
Two nights in each location September , close to town centre , walk in preferable , not too many stairs if possible .
Middle aged couple budget usually about EUR 180 per night .
Recommendations from experience please .
See my other post .
Thank you

Dijon town centre is pretty grim, especially anywhere near the train station. If you have a car, look south along the Burgundy wine road to Beaune. Plenty of great hotel/gastro restaurants...we have stayed at Ermitage de Corton and Chateau Chaulon a few times...and try the local Aloxe Corton.
Another vote for Beaune over Dijon.
Stayed here a couple of years ago and would recommend it. Secure parking if that is a consideration.
