In a couple of weeks time at the end of our main holiday the rest of the family are spending a few days at Disneyland Paris which i absolutely hate and have no interest in going to so i have a few days to myself. The basic plan is to visit a few WW2 sites and have some quiet time to myself. I'll be driving and plan is still amendable at the moment,

I drop them off on tuesday morning and need to pick them up lunchtime on saturday.

I'm heading off towards Bastogne on Tuesday and stopping overnight close by. Wednesday morning i'm heading to Malmedy before driving to Cologne where i'm based for two nights. No major plans for cologne but have been for the christmas markets and enjoyed it. Friday I'm driving from Cologne to Brussels via the hurtgen forest and stopping in Brussels overnight. Saturday morning driving back to Disneyland via Waterloo.

So anything else around these areas i should see or do?

Or could you recommend any other 4 day trips convenient from Disney? I've already done the D-Day beaches. It doesnt have to just be War stuf, cars and watches also feature in my hobbies list! But random quirky nerdy stuff also appeals!

Ta very much!

If you're interested in War stuff and headed around Luxembourg you should go to the American cemetery there as General Patton is buried there. You could also see some of the Maginot Line. I went to Hackenberg a few years ago and it was excellent then.

I recommend the Loh collection car museum ,just checked the distance from Cologne , about 1 3/4 hours drive east.

I went last October ,it's quite new and not that well known . smile

Park up in Lux and use the entirely free public transport. Fill up with fuel before leaving too - cheapest in the area
