Last minute as we didn't fancy the UK forecast for some golf. Flying out early Tuesday morning, playing Royal Course then the Ocean Course on the Wednesday and flying back Thursday morning.

Haven't book accommodation yet and there doesn't seem to be a huge amount really close by to stay.

No budget but walking distance to the courses with a nice bar/restaurant and a pool would be amazing.

Either 2 separate hotel rooms or a 2-bed villa.

Any advice? Thanks.

(Only advice I've had so far is don't fall foul of the dress code of they won't let you play, i.e. your shorts must have belt loops!)

Wyndham in quinta is good, and I've stayed there may time. Uber very cheap there so easy to get to the courses. Or try Don Felipe - not so good, but closer to Val.

re dress code - I actually find the Portugal courses more relaxed in dress code. Played there many times and never had an issue

Don't stress about being too close to the course, Ubers are everywhere and are decently cheaper vs the UK.

As well as the normal hotels/booking.com sites look at Vrbo, generally decent for villas out there.

Don Felipe is where I was looking, decent location right next to the courses and close to restaurants etc by the looks of it.

I'll check out Vrbo, I'd looked on AirBnB to no avail. Booking.com can always come to the rescue. But I've never been to VdL so I'm going in blind.

Im going next month. I would say anywhere is fine, most accommodation and hotels are good.

great restaurants too - Marias, bovino, parilla. Pub/bar - cheeky pup, bamboo bar. The pracas used to be good, but last time I went was v quiet. So would stay clear. Further afield - try Vilamoura.
