Cruising the Nivernais - Loire

I'm planning a hire boat week on the Canal du Nivernais next year and am trying to decide where the best place to start is. We like impressive scenery and plenty of visual interest, and it's clear we can't cover the whole system in a week.

If anyone has cruised this area I'd be pleased to see your thoughts. Thanks!

Haven't cruised the area but I can point out (in case you didn't know) that Sancerre/Pouilly Fume and Chablis are two of the greatest white wine areas in the World...
