...... or better still Uber drivers?

OK, I travel to London once a week and return on a peak train from Kings Cross

My local station is not traffic friendly and when a packed express arrives its carnage trying to get a black cab or private hire, and then when you eventually do its stuck in the station gridlock

Seems me and a handful of other commuters and Uber drivers have had the same idea - theres a very convenient road a few minutes walk away with ample parking, zero congestion and a fast track back home

I usually wait till I get there, open the app for a ride and one of the cars nearby immediately accepts. Happy days

Unfortunately once a month or so I get accepted by someone I can clearly see already on a job, usually heading for the station chaos with a prior fare and so will be held up for 10-20 mins until they get to me.

i understand why they would wish to minimise down time between jobs but its bloody annoying for me.

The Uber algorithm must let them do this so what can I do to stop being taken for a ride? Or not as the case may be smile

Theres nothing in the feedback I can flag - just 'other'

Or have I just had a bad run of being left in the rain for 10-20 mins on a Friday night in winter?

Cheers

I had a strange Uber recently.

Going out for dinner and beers, a cab at 6pm, driver was close by, only took 7 mins to get to us, then drove us 20 mins and it was £25.

On our return, pub kicked us out, booked a Uber just after 12, took 25 mins to turn up (he was 25 mins away, not delayed!), drove us the 20 mins home, charged us £16! £16 to drive 25 mins to us, to then drive us 20 mins in a different direction, to then drive 25 mins back to the city from mine.

This was on the app, prepaid, no discount.
