Perhaps not what you are after (as it's an aparthotel) but stayed here for a week in October 2024 and it was superb and really well placed for access to the riverside and Gaia, and the owners were such nice people.
There's a restuarant called Farro nearby which was stunning, and very reasonable - check it out if you do go.
I was bowled over by Porto, preferred it to Lisbon and we were blessed with fantastic weather in October (though not typical as I understand it). Can't wait to go again and now that flights are being run from Newcastle it's on our list again for 2026

absolutely LOVE Porto
Such a different vibe from Lisbon (which I also love)
Can't add about hotels as we stay with family there but hopefully you'll love the place.
Especially if you like Port as much as I do!

...for some reason the Farro link only covers the delicious bread they make, if you search on Trip Adviser there are loads of reviews about their food

Hotel Boa Vista in Foz do Douro. Outside the bustle of central Porto in a nice parkland area overlooking the mouth of the Douro as it empties into the Atlantic. 15 mins or so on the wonderful American vintage tramway to hit central Porto.
It's a 3 star hotel only which is probably appropriate but you get a warm welcome, there is an olde world charm about the place and a great breakfast. Has its own car park - a bit like those Parisian jobbies - underground & tortuous with lots of paint scrapes on the walls. I managed to squeeze a 3 series Touring into it but anything larger would get exciting.
View from the rooftop terrace :

ETA - aha, you're sorted. Enjoy. Find an excuse to have a trip on the old tram though.
