Hi all got two full days coming up in Singapore so any ideas? Haven’t been since the 80s. Staying near Raffles Place . We like to walk and look and not really into the real touristy type things ie Zoo etc. Thought catch the metro to Sentosa, check out Raffles, China town and Little India, also Botanical Gardens.
Where is good to eat street food , seem to remember China Town had food halls and good food?

Having just spent 4 days there then I can recommend afternoon tea at Raffles! Lovely experience though not cheap. The queue for the Long Bar was ridiculous for what was probably an overpriced drink!

We had a nice walk round the old colonial district and Fort Canning if that is of interest. Also did Sentosa which was a pleasant afternoon (we didn’t go to the theme park bits!) Again some good history.

We didn’t partake of the hawker centres although the Maxwell one is said to be very good and China town itself was fascinating.

Gardens by the Bay is worth a walk round as well, even if you don’t do the payable bits and the light show is certainly worth it. Not convinced about going up the observation part of the Marina Bay Sands hotel though. I am sure there are just as good views from some roof top bars.

We went last year for a week. The gardens are amazing and as mentioned the light show at night is definitely worth a visit. We did the VIP experience on the viewing platform at Marina Bay Sands, it was a brilliant experience as you get there about an hour before sunset and watch the sun go down with drinks and comfortable seats away from the crowds.

We also went to Universal Studios out of curiosity and while it was good it’s not as good as California or Florida. The Grand Prix track is worth a look if you have time and the night zoo is a decent experience. Food is amazing and the hawker centres are a great way to try lots of different things that are not expensive.

You could easily spend 2 days just walking around all the different ethnic districts so is worth doing a bit of planning, the public transport system is efficient, cheap and goes to most places you’ll want to and you can use a credit card to scan in and out in the same way as the London Underground.

We had the VIP booked and it was cancelled due to bad weather - thunderstorms. Full refund and unlimited access so we went up twice!
