Stag do - Vilamoura or Bratislava
Discussion
I am tasked with organising a stag do for June 26.
The flight schedule from our nearest airport shows Vilamoura or Bratislava as good long weekend destinations. Prices seem slightly more for the former with hotels than the latter, albeit its close enough to not be a massive decider.
Most attendees mid -30s to mid 40s, with a few older outliers.
I have not been to either, closest to Portugal was experience of Albufeira and Lagos. Not visited Bratislava either but I have done Prague, Budapest etc so have a broad feel.
What say ye?

It probably depends on the group.
Vilamoura is nice, has a marina, some nice restaraunts, some Irish bars, and a couple of dancing places. -- One of its general target markets is golfers which tend to be groups of men away from their wives for a weekend - i.e. not entirely unlike a stag do.
I think both locations could work.

Few images of Villamoura marina for you.
It is surrounded by resturants and bars, but they are not bargain prices!
The back streets off the marina offer a little better value. The large hotel in the background of the first image is the Tivoli, the sea is behind it.

How big is the group? anything more than 10 blokes will be hassle on a European city break, particularly if your considering fancy dress etc as you will not be welcome in most places.
Lively holiday resorts are far less hassle for a big stag group.
Bratislava has also been trying to shake off its stag do reputation, somewhere like Bucharest or Hamburg would be a better option due to the nightlife etc.

My in laws have a place in Vilamoura and its very nice but quiet. There is a lot of golf... a lot.
Nightlife isnt that crazy, there wont be many locals out, IME.
If thats what you are after, plenty of drinks and a bit of banter amongst yourselves not much else then Vilamoura would be fine.
However, if you want the more traditional weekend of slightly more adult activities then Bratislava would be my choice.
