Belgium / De Panne
Discussion
Hi,
To break up the long Easter break and a rare opportunity to blow the cobwebs off the GT3, I am planning a short 2 nights/ 3 days roadtrip to De Panne area / Belgium (previously recommended on PH). If it was an adult trip, I would stop off at Dunkirk to check the WWII memorials etc,..but since I am taking my kids, the requirements are a little different. Apart from Popsaland, are there any hidden gems which are family oriented and suitable for a 7 & 8 years old?
Thanks.

Thanks, the Atlantic war museum looks good , plus when I explained and showed my girls a few pictures, they seem quite keen to explore the place!
I also found this outdoor activity centre not far away which has some really fun stuffs:

Plopsaland and high ropes for some adrenalin kicks, and the Atlantic wall museum for a taste of history, perfect for our short trip!

Just a brief feedback on my trip.
Atlantic war museum - interesting war site with good info (listen on machines available at entry). My kids just wanted to run around which meant I rarely completed reading or listening to the end! I would go back again, but without kids so I could complete the trail in peace
Plopsaland- by chance, we attended yesterday which was the finale of the Easter break with all the shows and dancing etc..The psrk is huge, and filled with multiple rides and play areas across all ages. Very impressed with Plopsaland and I see us returning to try out all the rides as my girls (and me!) builds up more courage. In fact, I was mighty relieved when my girls declined those stomach churning rollercoasters
The park is expanding with a new section with new rides in 2027, so a revisit is definitely on the card!!
Outside Adventure - an activity centre 45mins outside of De Panne. It has tonnes to do, but best to call or email to find out the schedule. My girls joined in the rope course and zip wire with the camping group and had an absolute blast.
