worth checking if your sun cream is banned before travel as It seems more countries with coral reefs are banning sun creams containing some SPF ingredients

Haiwaii / Virgin Islands , Mexico etc

apparently searching baggage at customs they remove any sun creams containing certain SPF's

https://www.sunsolvemd.com/blogs/learn/countries-t...
any sun creams containing the following are prohibited

Oxybenzone (Benzophenone-3)
Octinoxate (Octyl Methoxycinnamate)
Octocrylene
4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor
PABA derivatives (e.g. Ethylhexyl Dimethyl PABA and PEG-25 PABA)
Octisalate (Ethylhexyl Salicylate)
Homosalate
Avobenzone (Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane)
Parabens
Phthalates

as an example most UK brands are all prohibited as most contain Oxybenzone , eg : Haiwaii Tropc/ Nivea / Banana boat / Ambrai Solaire

has anyone tried alternatives ?

Do they work and any recommendations for alternative sun blocks for kids ...that work

i use this

https://www.badgerbalm.com/products/clear-zinc-min...

also comes in spf 50 and a kids version [orange scented is the only real difference]

98% organic ingredients, broad cover and waterproof, reef friendly and carries the certification mark on the packaging.

it doesn't absorb completely, leaving a visible white smear if that bothers you.
