Getting conflicting advice from the internet. Do I need a vignette for the continuation of the autoroute Blanche going into Geneva (Route Blanche / Route de Malagnou).

Only nipping in for the day and getting a vignette makes it an expensive trip so want to avoid having to get one.

I don't know if things have changed,
but the last time I ventured into Switzerland, when passing through border control if a Vignette was not being displayed, the border control officer would attach one to the windscreen and ask for the required payment to be handed over,

but I understood this to be required if you intend using the motorway network, so perhaps you could explain your intent of only using local roads around Geneva area

After having had a look at the map it looks like the A411 carries on into Geneva after passing border control so I think a Vignette will be mandatory
is there another route you can take in that avoids continuing on a motorway

Google maps routes me down that road even if I set it to avoid tolls. The issue with borders on autoroutes is that there is no alternate route and you have to buy a vignette.

Will use an alternate route and not approach on the autoroute.

It’s not an autoroute once it crosses into Switzerland, you can continue all the way without a vignette.
