Hi,

I'm in an unsual situation of going away with my Partner but also taking my Mum too.

Requirements:

- Sunny and hot, like 20-30c
- Easy to get to, 3 hours by plane from UK
- Hotel to make it easy, with pool - typical type of place you find at most resorts
- Decent range of places in walking distance - like pubs/bars, restaurants, cafes, maybe night time shows even - juts some atmosphere - basically not a single bar where it's just dead

Considering

- Tenerife - specifically Americas, Los Cristianos
- Benidorm - my Mum really likes it, i've been before, it's OK but with the world cup on, plus just general visitors, I'm not sure I am up for it
- Rhodes - been before and really enjoyed it

I know of the other places as they are clearly listed on a map or in the search, but looking for personal thoughts really.

Thanks

NDA

I had a few holidays in Mallorca when the children were about the right age - all of those boxes can be ticked.

Are those considered all 3 hour flights? Thought most were longer?

Bit longer on the flights but you can't go wrong with a mid range all inclusive in Sharm.

Red Sea coral holiday village was excellent at Xmas, different restaurants on site and outside, buffet food was very good, Evening entertainment, but I guess world cup will take over most places.

A trip to a beach club for the day was surprisingly good, day trip to Dahab during the day was goid too.

Tbh, Gave up on Spain a long time ago, for Greece and Portugal, now it's Egypt unless going long haul.

We really enjoyed Rhodes too when we went a couple of years ago. Would happily go back there.

Portugal offers a lot. Madeira especially if the flights work for you.

ETA the latter isn't really a beach place so might not suit, but it's brilliant for multi-generational holidays.

Med temps are now up to spec, take your pick.

Puerto Pollensa in Mallorca is lovely. I think from now on you can ignore the Canaries and opt for the shorter flight times.

Menorca likewise, Cala’n Bosch, Ciutadella.

Crete- a little longer flight but prefer it to Rhodes- Stay in Rethymon which has everything you need.

Looking at your requirement l would say Cala Dor or Alcudia both on the Island of Majorca would be ideal.

Vilamoura? Airport is close, beach is walkable, lots of places to eat etc.
There is a Hyatt and Crowne Plaza both <5 min walk from the beach and <10 min to the marina.
Average flight time is around 2.5 hours.

Its popular with golfers so its not crazy night clubs etc but its not dead either.

Pretty much anywhere in the Med would match your list.
Thought about Cyprus? Paphos would match your list exactly.

Nice & surrounding areas
Just about anywhere on the Med coast of Spain.
Croatia
Either coast on Italy but might not offer the kinds of bars you are after compared to Mallorca/Benidorm - I'd prefer it though).

Agree.

Sooooo many places to choose from in that bunch and all will be equally good.

My preference...... Majorca. It's got it all.

This would be my suggestion as well - there are plenty of really nice hotels in walking distance from the harbour where all the action is. We stayed in Olympic Lagoon, which was stunning.

Other side of the island is pretty good too, and there's a brilliant show you can go to see over there (Stardust). It's in the arse end of nowhere but they put on coach transport from Protoras/Ayia Napa/Peneira.

Other place I've visited recently which could fit the bill is Split in Croatia - that's a bit more spread out and requires more walking however.
