Camping near river Wey - how to check if it is full of shit?
Discussion
I'm taking the kids camping near the River Wey in Surrey this weekend. A few of weeks ago we went swimming nearby at Frenaham ponds. After a few hours splashing around the rangers came and put signs up saying there had been a sewage discharge locally.
I am very paranoid after watching the "Dirty Business" documentary (its horrific, but recommend). Anyone know how to check the status of the river? The surfers against sewage app doesn't cover it.

After some searching I found this.

Has a map with live discharges. Still a bit cautious though. How depressing.

Regardless of the sewage discharge data, I would not be going into any UK river voluntarily.
There are so many cowboys pouring stuff down drains or just connecting new houses sewerage to surface water runs, rivers are no swimming pools.
Find a chalk stream near to its source and you might be ok, but it won't be deep enough to get above your knees.
