Apart from the obvious walking, climbing, kayaking... We have 11 days and are travelling with 3 teenagers so something for them would be good! biggrin

I know Snowdonia fairly well but Anglesey barely at all. Walking round South Stack looks spectacular but any other walking recommendations are welcome.

We went to bounce below 9 years ago but it occurs to me that my wife and daughter didn't do the underground via ferrata/zip wires so expect we'll go back. That and the big zip wire.

Rhosneigr is a lovely village not far away which is the perfect place to spend a sunny day and has a great restaurant called Sandy Mount House. There’s also an excellent pub called The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn and if you’re lucky they might be some activity at RAF Valley which you can walk to from Rhosneigr via the beach or dunes.

You could do a day trip to Abersoch which is about 1hr 15mins away and might appeal to teenagers

I'd try RAF Valley - only seems to be active on weekdays though. There's a visitor's centre that is manned by volunteers who seem to know any flying schedules.

Zip World in Bangor is worth a shout.

You'll 100% see Hawks and Texan's at Valley on the weekdays between 8.30/9am and 5pm, from Rhosneigr near the railway station (between the caravan parks either side of the road) you can walk down the dunes to end of the runway. It's a cracking spot.

Chances are you'll see some other bits and bobs too as there are regularly A400s dropping in for example

Newborough Forest/Nature reserve, possibly the nicest beach going.

I recommend lunch at the oystercatcher near Rhosnegir.

Also - nearby is a beach calld Porth Nobla. Just walk up on the headland and climb around the cliffs. loads of easy climbing/exploring.

South Stack is also a good visit - worth going up the tower. Really amazing talk at the top.

This is bringing back happy memories. Spent most of my childhood holidays in Rhosneigr with the constant noise of the Hawks landing at Valley. Haven’t been back in over 30 years.

Do they still do the air show in August? Always exciting when you got more exotic planes flying over.

Hope you have fun!

We went every year of my childhood and sometimes as an adult too as family friends had a house on the main beach, but I haven’t been in a few years now which is something I must correct!

The air show stopped many years ago but I can still remember watching all sorts of US aircraft performing there from the sand dunes. Happy times.

Porth Wen brickworks is an interesting place to wander round. You can only get there on foot, after parking your car on lay-by at the nearest road, and it’s a bit of a scramble down to the brickworks. I’ve seen groups of kayakers paddle around the coast and into the brickworks, so that could be an option’?

It’s definitely interesting but I’ve read that the land owner doesn’t appreciate people trespassing on his land as the PROW doesn’t go to the actual brickworks.

Sorry, forgot to reply to say thanks, having a great time. South Stack and the lighthouse were spectacular, Y Marram delicious, Tryfan via the north ridge good fun. Got loads of other plans too, ta.

Place we're staying is pretty special too. The view on the evening we arrived:
