Last Minute 1-week Peak Booking- Couple Only

The current Mrs S and I are looking to book a last-minute 1 week holiday for 1st week in August. Assuming this is not complete insanity, I wanted to ask first where is best to book this? Lastminute or Secret Escapes or similar, or just go to Travel Agent?

Second, and the fun bit - where to go?

We want an adults-only place, no more than 4 hours to get to and with a bit of outside exploration possible for some nice dinners out. So ideally a nice resort where we can pop out for a few hours and explore (on foot). We're thinking Marrakech, Greek Islands or Balearics.

We don't want mainland Spain or Canaries as done those to death already. Appreciate August is going to be hot, we don't really care about that.

Bonus points if someone has a specific resort to go to.
