What's wrong with using a local company?

Nothing particularly, it's just less reassuring than using one of the big companies.

I don't understand that at all lol.

You think a multi national big company paying its over worked staff the minimum wage is reassuring?

Lots of threads on why they are not.

Centauro & Drivalia operate across Europe so not really a local company. Nolegiarre are italian only so they might class as local.

Not as many scam ones as the big boys, and smaller companies do tend to treat staff with more respect.

The answer is in the last post and if the big names are not coming up on Holiday autos they probably aint there, so the OP has little choice.

I used Locauto last time I was in that part of the world, though from Trieste airport not Venice. They were brilliant, dead easy to deal with, gave me a choice of three cars, all of which were newish and in good condition, and no OTT upselling that you tend to get from the bigger names.
