It looks like a small hotel room with an iron instead of a kettle/cups, a telly, a globe light fitting and a free pair of smelly socks if I'm not mistaken. There seems to be a limited amount of bar snacks available also.

My bet is that there's a cable drop down the center of the column so the bracket had to be off to one side to avoid drilling through the cable. You'll probably find the first room they fitted out has a repair behind the TV.
