On line check in
Discussion
I've checked in on line as soon as a I could, exactly 24 hours before departure, and the sequence number on my boarding pass is 74!, this on an A320! Did 73 people really check in before me or are sequence numbers nothing to do with the particular flight? I did rather like the idea that by checking in promptly I might manage sequence number 1, childish I know.

It's BA, so though there are options to select seats earlier, check in is 24 hours ahead at the earliest.
That's regular BA procedure for economy.Have you an allocated seat? When did that occur....at the time you booked and paid for a specific seat or when you checked in?

If anyone has a connecting flight they can check into the whole sequence earlier. Ie if they're flying Manchester to Heathrow and then onwards on the flight you're on, their 24hr before departure clock starts 24hrs before their Manchester flight and they can check-in the entire sequence.
Otherwise someone has faster fingers than you!

Was just going to say this, it’s one advantage of flying from a regional airlport 1st - the check in & free set selection is 24hrs from 1st flight. Otherwise someone has faster fingers than you!
