I've not been to Dubai for a few years now but in January I am heading there for an exhibition and I'll have 4 days to myself. I'll be with a friend, we're both 40, and so far I have decided I want to go back to the top of the Burj for a cocktail as the sun goes down and I'll definitely be heading to Ferrari World for a few hours of rollercoasters, will be nice to go without the kids for once.

Anything else defo worth doing? I was in Abu Dhabi last year and did the desert safaris etc so don't really feel the need to go sand surfing again.

Depends what you're into...

Jan is beach club season so you can book a couple of sunbeds / cabanas, and chill, have some nice drinks and food and enjoy the view smile my favourite is nobu on the beach at the royal atlantis but there are literally dozens

food you're spoilt for choice - from cheap eats (e.g. ravi's, pak darbar, hashmi bbq, super bowl asian cafe) to michelin gastonomy (11 woodfire, orfali bros) to trendy brunch/coffee shops (alserkal ave) to local (al khayma heritage)

for coffee / brunch you might enjoy drvn porsche cafe on bluewaters. if you are there on the first sunday of each month there's a big porsche owners meetup with some seriously exotic stuff (as you would imagine): https://dealer.porsche.com/pme/pme/en-GB/DRVNbyPOR...

if you're into 'bottomless brunch' there are dozens of those on satudays as well - from more calm (nice food, good drinks, still fun - e.g. tasca at mandarin oriental) to mental brits abroad style (saffron at atlantis - particularly good for people watching).

for something a bit more cultural, i like going to the spice souks and having a walk around in bur dubai. someone i know recently did this emirati brunch + culture session and said it was great: https://gyg.me/LGu3qoGQ

depending on your dates in jan you might be there for the camel racing at drc https://dubairacingclub.com/race-calendar/?srsltid...

you could hire a nice fast car for the day and go up the twisties in jebel jais, or you could go and drive yas marina track for a few laps (they hire cars out: https://www.yasmarinacircuit.com/en/experience#dri...

go to al qudra lakes for a cycle or drive around

go spear fishing or snorkelling in fujairah

hire a captain and boat and head out for a day's fishing from dubai marina

go for a run around the lakes down by the meadows/springs

sure there's more that I can't think of right now!

Thank you, there from 24th to 30th, flying back early afternoon on the Saturday so I'm not sure bottomless brunch is a good idea that morning!

Love the idea of Yas Marina, will definitely look into that, GT3RS or 488 Cup would be amazing!
