Be grateful to receive suggestions on noise cancelling headphones for use on planes.
Seems that airpods don't like being used on planes, so grateful for recommendations

Many thanks

I have AirPod Pros and a pair of Technics A800s. The technics are terrible, get a high pitched whistle when NC is switched on, AirPods are great. Our daughter has a pair of Bose quiet comfort and she says they work well.

My old Bose QC35s still do the job just fine.

Got a pair of Bose QC25s which I use for longhaul and a small pair of Sony in ears WF700NC where the noise cancelling is pretty good for the price.

Tbh, any of the overear NC headphones will do pretty well. Whether that be Apple/Bose/Sony/B&W/etc. Get the benefit of both passive and active noise reduction.

I've used my Sony XM4s on somewhere around 200 flights, and they're awesome. Crucial bit is the fit - they're not too warm, and they don't give me ear/head pain with extended wear. I've even worn them fully laid out sleeping on long haul just for the attenuation of sound.

The only irritation is even though they come with a 'plane adaptor' to twin mini plugs, it seems every plane I fly on has a weird 'one large, one small' setup the adaptor doesn't work in!

I have used Anker Soundcore A40 earbuds for a couple of years and ~40 flights and find them very good. Cheap, good noise cancelling for planes, good battery life, and comfy (for me) for very long flights.

I have Technic eah-az100 earbuds which are brilliant, very comfortable and NC and sound are great.

If I was buying today though I'd probably go for the Sony wf100xm6's or for over ear the Sony wh1000xm6's.

1vote for ye olde faithful, AKA Sony wh-1000XM4.

They've since launched the XM5, then the XM6 and now they've relaunched a new version of the XM4. Possibly removable batteries? Noise cancellation on my older pair is excellent. The only thing I don't particularly like are the swipe/tap gestures to control volume and track. I'd much prefer physical buttons or knobs. But I think I may be the only one.
