Afternoon all

Bit of help needed here. Im off on a stag do this saturday in Newcastle, and ive forgotten to book a hotel. Ive just checked and all the reasonable priced ones (and ones that arent utter dumps), are booked up.

Does anyone know any decent places that they can recommend that might not be booked up (probably somewhere not on the internet). I only need a double (or maybe a triple) room.

Thanks......

Ah, that does sound like Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Try googling for hotels in 'Jesmond'. It's one of the nicer suburbs of the city and only 10-15 walk to the city centre. Nice bars and place to eat as well as being on the metro link!

If you're on a tighter budget try looking at B&Bs in Gateshead. There are a few that are within walking distance of the bars in Newcastle, or a few quid in a taxi.

If we're talking Geordie-land, then the Royal Station is ok - no issues with it whenever I've stayed, and it's right in the centre. Less than £100p/n for B&B.

Malmaison is my fave in Newcastle right on the quayside and perfect for a wander round on a Sunday morning.

Cheers for the suggestions. All the big hotels are full, apart from the expensive ones. And all the hotels in Jesmond are full (thasts where we normally stay). Gonna phone round a few smaller B&Bs.
