Don't bother... I just don't understand the point of these holidays. They take all the luxurious side out of actually being on a cruise liner, and therefore a lot of the expense.. leaving you with a floating mass of chavs.

The Mrs and I went on a 2 week honeymoon cruise with Ocean Village. We thought it was very good, certainly not full of chavs. The ship was very clean, food & night time entertainment was good too.

We got to see 10 destinations over a fortnight (Monaco, Rome, Barcelona, Florence, St Tropez etc).

Bear in mind there is now a holiday forum, this thread will probably get moved in there when a mod notices it.

I think it is ok as a 'budget' cruise - there are better companies out there. My sister recently went on 'Ocean Village 2' after having been on several NCL cruises, and was disappointed.

People do have different experiences though, you might find it excellent.

My neighbout goves OV on their repositioning cruises each spring/autumn. He eats every night in the speciality restaurants and pays the small upgrade fee.

If tyou want a traditionanm suited and booted crusie I suggest Cunard, RCL, P&O or Celebrity. Fred Olsen are a cheaper version of the formal cruise. OV are probably the best of the casual end. From what I have seen berthed alongside them , steer clear of Thomsons.

Having said that cruuises are what you make them and what you want them to be.
