Hi all,

I'd like a spot of help/advice if anyone knows of this place. I have only heard of it myself this evening!

Basically the MiL has a conference here beginning of June, and has invited the OH and I along for a gratis trip as the accomodation cost will be met by her work.

Having had a look at the place on tinterweb, I get the sneaky suspicion it might be full of Eastenders themed bars and the like! I am trying to find an apartment in the nearby area, maybe just outside of Bugibbar, and ultimately somewhere with a pool and quiet!

Whenever I search on tripadvisor I keep being directed towards apartments called the "Shamrock" and that type of place, does anyone know of anywhere nearby to Bugibba that might be reasonably suitable?

The budget is circa £800 for the week for the apartment, or whatever accomodation that would comfortably fit three of us in it.......

Thanks in advance for any help or advice,

Finkers

I went to Malta with my daughter last year and I thought it was great, we had a really lovely week and if you like history and archeology, there's LOADS to see.

I can't comment directly on Buggibba because we only drove through and had a bite to eat there one evening, but from the little we saw, it did seem a bit Blackpool.

If I were going back to Malta (which I probably will one day) I'd try to avoid the whole of the east side (all the touristy areas) of the island apart from Sliema. The island is tiny, so nowhere is too far away, particularly if you have a car. We stayed in Mellieha and I certainly wouldn't recommend it as there is NOTHING there apart from the beach.

(I don't watch Eastenders, have any tattoos and would never go out in public in a pair of tracksuit bottoms)
