Go to the Farne Islands this month
Discussion
We've just spent 4 days in Northumbria, staying on Lindisfarne, One of the highlights of the stay, was a boat trip from Seahouses around the islands to visit the sea bird nesting sites. For anyone remotely interested in birds this trip is well wortrhwhile. You're taken really up close and personal and can make your own Attenborough style video. The sheer numbers of birds are staggering.
But, you'll have to go soon. Most of the birds are on eggs now and some are already feeding fledglings.
Birds aside, there are plenty of castles and other historic and religious sites to visit. The good weather also led us to some of the nicest beaches in the country
I rate the trip 10/10

Spent time up there before, lovely part of the world. Did the boat trip too and did a great 'Old Spice' impression as I was coming in to the cabin from the deck of the boat and a huge wave broke over the bow, causing a rush of water through the doorway with a cartoon style Mark cut out the middle!
