Preferably not long-haul. Not after a party centre, but good beaches, good weather, good accommodation and a bit of culture if possible. Already thinking Corsica, Kefalonia etc. Any suggestions welcomed.

Cheers!

Croatia? That's where I'm off to. Montenegro is meant to be excellent.

I'd go back to Cannes in a flash. Lovely beeches, you've got the old town, not bad restaurants, and you can get to Monaco fairly easily if you want.

Aye, considering Croatia, but wasn't sure about the sun and temp. Intend being there 2nd week in Sep.

Been to Egypt a few times in September, very hot and not a cloud in the sky. Hyatt Regency at Taba Heights is good for the money but is in the middle of nowhere. However, I'm not sure how safe Egypt is these days.

I'm looking at Croatia in early October and the temperatures seem OK but it won't be the warmest place you could go to smile

Algarve, Portugal

Once the UK school go back it returns to normal, great beaches, lots of sun, fantastic food. if you stick around the Golden Triangle area (Dunas Douradas, Vale Do Lobo, Quinta) you will find that you should avoid the "kiss me quick" brigade that disgorge from the charter flights. Easyjet and Ryanair offer cheap flights, would suggest hiring a villa in any of the above locations

Bought a villa out there last year and wished we had done it years ago when we first started visiting.

Hope this helps, give me a shout if more info needed.

Av daily max 25C in Dubrovnik according to BBC. Certainly not hot - but pleasant.
