Being one of two westerners in the Friday night market in Si Racha, walking the "wrong way" round the market and carving a path through the onslaught of about 10000 Thais all staring at us...
Drinking Thai whisky in a friend's private beach house on Bangsaen Beach on Christmas day evening followed by a drunken threesome with a gorgeous Dutch couple after many cocktails in the loudest nightclub ever...
Turning up for a long weekend totally out of the blue and seeing 3 very close friends in floods of tears as I walked into their workplace to surprise them...
Talking to random strangers on the night train and bus to Chiang Rai...
Riding a rented scooter from Bangers to Pattaya in torrential rain when all around me where parked up under road bridges taking cover. Arriving in Pattaya and going straight in to Lucifers to get wasted, still soaked to the skin...
Putting my life in the hands of the worlds best surgeon and ultimately gaining some fantatsic friends that will be with me forever...

lots of cool stuff
Never thought I would say this in reply to one of your posts, but I wish I could have been there!....apart from maybe the last bit.

Although the nicer stuff such as that above has many many fond memories.

The guy I was at the market with was an art student from LA.
He had a blonde mohawk haircut and both arms had full sleeve tattoos.
I'm 6'2" and had short blonde dyed hair.
Chris bought a marker pen and I wrote "It's only hair" on his T-shirt, not that most people could read it of course but it made us laugh.
The fried cockroaches were delicious though...

Just out of curiosity; did you participate in said threesome in a male, or female, capacity?Spending a day "volunteering" (you pay for the privilege, but it's worth it) at the Elephant Nature Park north of Chiang Mai. Fantastic place, majestic creatures, lovely staff.
Touristy day-trip in a boat around the limestone islands south of Ao Nang. Photogenic doesn't describe the place adequately...
Visiting the Royal Palace in Bangkok. Another touristy thing but a must-see - the louder-than-life colours, the architecture, the sheer spectacle of the place...
Night-time dinner cruise on the Chao Praya river thru Bangkok. So much better than such a thing would be in the UK...
Being overwhelmed by Chatuchak market on only our 2nd day on our first trip outside Europe. HUGE!
